Deeping Lakes mini-gallery

Little Owl

Dooingggg! Greenfinch

Male Mealy Redpoll
Deeping Lakes LWT is a great place, with massive potential if managed well... Sometimes it appears to have no birds, but usually there is something lurking, lingering or appearing. On a sunny day (such as 5.4.06), it can be great for digiscoping, too. I took these shots within about 20 minutes of each other. The Little Owl is one of a pair in willows, suitably distant on the other side of a river from the viewer and the Mealy was one of two in Alders at the west end of the reserve, hanging out with a Lesser Redpoll, and really rather approachable. All are clickable for whoppers.
