Barn Owl action

On Saturday (4.6.05), I trundled along to Deeping Lakes LWT, Lincs for a bit in the evening. It is a wee bit 'quiet' at this time of year and I soon departed. The highlights were a family party of Chiffchaffs and a Barn Owl just as I left. IO then drove round to the Deeping St James side of the site, parked off and walked in vain in search of Spotted Flycatchers by the level crossing.
My way-back highlights were a couple of Barn Owls, one of which passed very close to me before becoming startled a human standing in its path (me). The other perched very close to where I was parked and surveyed the grassy bank of the Welland from its perch.
